Blue and White Baby Shower: Celebrating Baby Echols

The most fun backyard soiree! Since moving to our new home back in mid-March, we’ve spent this summer rushing to get some major renovations done before our baby boy arrives in September. We decided to use one of our showers as an excuse to have a housewarming party too, and I’m so glad we got to host our friends and family for the first time. I went with a classic blue and white baby shower theme, which goes perfect with his nursery decor – can’t wait to share more details on that! Despite the inevitable Summer afternoon storm that pulled our party inside for most of the evening, we all had such a good time together. How blessed is our little boy to be surrounded by so many people who love him already!

It was beyond fun to transform our backyard into such a beautiful space. This was my second event using Reverie Social for table linens, and they make it so easy! They ship you everything you need to rent, include a packing slip and bag for returns after your event, and even schedule UPS to come to your home to pick it all up. Not to mention their linens are all so pretty. Highly recommend them!

Most of these photos were taken by my dear friend Lisa Silva. She’s a Jacksonville wedding photographer and does such good work.

I used this Serena and Lily bar cart for our gift table, and these giant balloons. More details on that precious trunk below! I truly could’ve decorated for this shower for days… it was so fun.

I had a few different ideas for a welcome / guest book, and decided on one of our favorite stories, “Guess How Much I Love You”, in a large hardback to have everyone write their prayers in. John and I sat down to read through them all when we opened gifts together just the two of us and cried! I think this will be such a sweet thing to read to him as he grows up.

The flowers on the welcome sign were done by Jamie over at Harlow James florals. More details on her below!

I collect silver trays mostly from antique stores, and ordered a few more to have on hand just in case from Amazon. We loved using these custom cups I ordered from Etsy, and if you’re in Jacksonville I truly cannot recommend using C’est La Vie for catering and bar services. They came to set up tables and bar the day before, picked up all alcohol to put on ice, set up the food so beautifully, and provided such a fantastic service to our guests. The food was also delicious!

These gorgeous vases are from Susan Brown over at For Pete’s Sake pottery. Her hand painted designs are so beautiful! I will definitely be ordering a few of her keepsake items for baby boy once he arrives.

Another thing I love to collect are blue and white vases. I’ve gotten my hands on quite a few over the years at antique stores and estate sales, so it was a no brainer to use them as centerpieces for all of our high top tables. I got to play florist and filled them all with flowers from Trader Joes to pair well with the arrangements done by Jamie. Get some hydrangeas, ranunculus, and delphiniums and you can make a very inexpensive arrangement that still looks elevated.

I’ve been a huge fan of Petite Keep trunks for years, and they sent me their newest addition print with his little monogram! So surreal to start seeing his initials on things. This one is the largest of the 3 sizes, and I think in a nursery they look so beautiful stacked up. I am a very sentimental person, and I can’t wait to fill this with all of our firstborn son’s heirlooms and special items.

I filled the trunk with a stunning cascading floral arrangement by Harlow James as a fun “centerpiece” at the gift table, along with those oversized balloons and my favorite little newborn outfits. Another local plug if you need a florist- Jamie does SUCH great work and was so sweet to work with! She made sure everything was perfect.

My dad has his own coffee roasting business, Keith Family Roasters, and I thought it made for a cute party favor! I got these mini bags from Etsy, and they were a huge hit! If you’re at all into coffee, I especially love his Brazil roast. Just make sure you have a grinder 😉
