A Blue + White Nursery

The best room in the house. Shep’s nursery was so much fun to create, and took every bit of 9 months (and then some) to finish. After finding out I was pregnant in January, I couldn’t wait to start working on our baby room. When we found out it was a BOY, I knew I wanted a classic nursery with some coastal, southern touches. I took lots of inspo from Father of the Bride 🙂

I figure as Shep grows older, he’ll have more say as to what his bedroom looks like but for now, I wanted him to have the sweetest and brightest room in the house. I had a ball collecting furniture and decor over the months leading up to bringing him home, and one of my favorites is this bookshelf I found from a local antique store. I wanted to bring in some dark wood tones, and I love the scalloping that tied in the ceiling fixture and his bookcase.

It was sweet as this room kept coming together, it was like Benji knew he was waiting on his brother. We’d find him in here napping by the crib all the time.

If you are influenced one thing from this post, please let it be to buy these these gorgeous rockers for your nursery! I can’t get over them. They are so comfortable, such a beautiful designer print, half the cost of leading swivel rockers on other high end sites, and large enough to get cozy during feeds and bedtime routines. I put two chairs in here so John and I could sit and rock Shep together, and so he could be with me as I’m nursing. It’s been the sweetest time. This brand is amazing, and has lots of other prints to fit with your room. Once we don’t need two chairs in here, I’ll most likely be moving one down to the living room.

One of the first things I bought for Shep’s room was this 4ft giraffe from walmart (lol), and it was such a good price. There’s something so whimsical about big stuffed animals in kids rooms, and I love him so much! The bow is from Etsy.

I also really wanted to paint something for his room, and ended up doing this abstract water scene to keep up some of those subtle coastal details, with colors pulled from around the room. I hope to do this for all our our children in some way.

I collaborated with Pepper Home, and I can’t get over the quality of these beautiful drapes. These are the blackout pleated curtains in print “Emma Sky”. The ordering is beyond easy, they are so helpful in any measurement and style questions, and the shipping is so fast. These are such a fun print that adds such a fun pop.

Take a peek at this reel we put together featuring Pepper on my Instagram!

We painted the walls Sherwin Williams “Mountain Air” and I love it. Its a very pretty light blue that goes so well with the curtains + chairs.
