We have lots to catch up on! This month is going to be a doozy with it being the last few weeks of true summertime (although it feels hot here until late October lol), my birthday is next week, and preparing for baby boy’s arrival next month. I can’t believe I’m saying that! I meant it in my last blog post on our baby shower that since we’ve moved into our house earlier this spring, it’s truly been a mad dash. This pregnancy has flown by, and I think a lot of that has to do with how busy we have been with work, travels and home renovations. I am so looking forward to soaking in these remaining weeks of just John and me.
I truly am so grateful for this year and how easy I’ve had it for my first pregnancy. There hasn’t been a day I haven’t enjoyed it all– despite the current 3rd trimester sleep woes that comes with a growing belly. All of my complaints have been minimal, and I’m praying the same experience goes for his birth. I’ve absolutely loved having our Doulas, taking a few classes on birth breathing, and learning more about just how capable our bodies are for this.
I’m not sure yet if I’ll post my birth story here, but I’m happy to go into a bit more detail on what all I’ve done throughout my pregnancy if y’all are interested. It’s different for every woman, and I’ve mostly had no control over how my body has taken to being pregnant, but I loved reading other women’s (positive) experiences and little tips here and there! So let me know if you’d like to read more on that from me. 🙂
Anyways! I’ve gotten some repeat questions on sources from recent posts and stories, so I figured I’d do a Summer Roundup today. I have mostly switched over to ShopMy from LTK, which has been a GODSEND for linking things so much faster. But I’ll still be active on both just in case!
Guest Suite Updates
I have so many (I mean, soooo many) house projects that are half way done at the moment, so I wish I had more to share of completed rooms! We finished up this guest room earlier in the summer since we started having visitors, and I’m loving the direction it’s going. I eventually want to do surround wallpaper in here because I just love the sloped ceilings, but that’s a later project.
We painted the walls SW Greek Villa and trim is SW pure white.
I am loving these Pepper Home pillows! They go so well with my antiqued green framed botanical prints. Linking similar here and here.
Our bed frame is old Bed Bath and Beyond that I rub n buffed with this antique gold a few years back. She needs a touch up after the move, but I’ve been so impressed with how well it’s held on! It looks like it came that way. I’m not sure if this exact bed is still available, but I’ve linked similar ones here, here and here.

Putting the nursery together
Ohhh I can’t wait to share this room! We’ve done so much more since these photos were taken, and I will be sharing so soon. I’m working with Pepper Home for his drapery, and I can’t get over how good it’s going to look with all the blues and prints.
I have gotten asked why we did two chairs, and so many other moms have been in my DM’s saying how badly they wish they did this! So let this start a new trend of 2 rockers in the nursery – lol! John and I want to be together with baby for those precious morning + evening routines, and I wanted seating for a friend or family member as well. I didn’t want John or anyone else to have to sit on an ottoman or the floor while I breastfeed! I couldn’t find something that was comfortable enough, rocked + swiveled, and had a high enough back for me to scootch down a bit to rest my head if I need to until I found these rockers by Namesake (not sponsored!). They also come in a gorgeous green in the same print. I can’t tell you how comfortable they are, and the perfect size. Not too oversized but also not small. I’m really looking forward to having lots of family time in here with the three of us!
