Happy New Year! How is it already January? Today I’m rounding up some of my all time favorites from the last 365 days that deserve a permanent spot on the blog. There are many favorites from this past year that unfortunately don’t have links: time spent at our home church, family weddings, friend’s babies born, traveling abroad, etc etc. 2023 was a jam packed year with career shifts, lots of fun, a fair share of grief, and sweet moments I’ll keep tender. It’s a good life.
Here are my favorites of this year:
Favorites For The Soul:
Beth Moore – All My Knotted Up Life
Starting off with a book that imprinted on my soul. I’ve always adored Beth Moore’s writing and teaching, and this memoir was hilarious, gut wrenching, and a bawl-your-eyes-out kind of book that was healing to read. Highly recommend.
This year, I’ve especially loved my early mornings. I love to wake up before the sun comes up to either tidy up, work out or sit with my coffee and read. This always always always sets up my day to be just a little more productive and grateful.
Art Class at First Coast Culture Center
This was such a fun and rich class, especially with Charlotte as our teacher. Taking more time learning art technique was a goal of mine for the year, and I can’t express how valuable it was for me to paint among such sweet ladies. The more creativity you use, the more you have! If you’re in Jacksonville, check out all of the adult class options here. They also have tons of options for children.
Favorites For The Home:
Adding trim to our front room was the last project we did before putting out home up for sale, and I’m so glad we did. Trimwork is a relatively easy and more inexpensive project that adds an enormous amount of character and style to a home, and I love how it turned out. Here’s the list of every single tool we used! It took a weekend, a few cans of semi-gloss paint and a dad + husband who knows how to do these things 😉 But once you get going, it’s pretty repetitive and gets easier.
Society Social Peel + Stick Wallpaper
I did a small hallway in our home in this peel and stick wallpaper and it was the easiest project for a solo DIY. The paper is pretty forgiving, and because it’s grasscloth print, you don’t have to line up the runs. It comes in so many colors that would look great in a bedroom, bathroom, hallway- whatever!

I am a huge fan of antique stores and facebook marketplace finds for filling our home with unique pieces that stores don’t have. One of my biggest hacks for decorating a home is training facebook marketplace to show me my style of home decor by using these search words: “grandmillennial”, “chinoiserie”, “traditional furniture”, “bamboo”, “pottery barn”, “rattan”. Only click and save the items that you like, then eventually Facebook will learn your preference.
This leaf blower has been so easy to keep our porch clean, and is very light weight for me. The rechargeable batteries last a long time, and the air is strong enough to clean quickly.
Favorites for Beauty + Health
Desiccated Beef Liver Capsules
For many reasons, we have loved these this year. It helps get a little more nutrients into your day to day, and there’s no gross beef aftertaste.
I’ve started to hone in on skincare a ton this year, and one of my favorites has been this oil cleaners. Double Cleansing is so important, and this face wash removes every bit of makeup and oil from the day.
A cleaner version of St. Tropez. Have loved this year, and isn’t as orangey!
I will never not use K18 from now on! I wash my hair twice a week and this shampoo cleanses so well. Wash twice!
The Inkey List Peptide Moisturizer
Another skincare favorite. You can use this morning and night under sunscreen or any other skin care. I’ve noticed such a difference in the brightness and overall health of my skin! Plus, you can’t beat the price.
Fashion Favorites
These are worth the hype, truly. The quality is so great, and I just love having a beautiful framed piece of art in the living room when the TV is off. There are endless art downloads that you can use to match any decor.
I have a platform sneaker obsession??? These are beyond comfortable and I love all of the different colors they come in. They are true to size!
Perfect for a wrist detail that’s just enough sparkle. I took mine in to a jeweler to get it sized just right because the band is tricky to remove, but you can’t beat a ~$30 total watch that looks light a brand name.
An easy bag that’s good for all year around. For work or just for everyday wear, this purse is a staple for me.
