My Makeup Favorites

I just did a post on my skincare favorites for the winter, but I had to let y’all know about all my makeup favorites while we’re on the subject. I have loved makeup since I was old enough to wear it, and have tried a zillion makeup products over the years. Right now I am in a sweet spot with finally finding some favorites that I will probably be using for a long time.

So, here we go!

best sunscreen for sensitive skin | eltaMD

Here’s what I ALWAYS begin with: sunscreen. I love this one from EltaMD!

Truly was skeptical of these tan drops from Drunk Elephant, but I am hooked. Warning, it looks so itty bitty when you first try it but it goes a LONG way while still looking subtle enough for all seasons. It has no scent either, which I love.

After I apply sunscreen liberally, I will put a drop on my cheeks, forehead, chin and neck and rub in. It’s very smooth. You can also use a beauty blender or brush, but I find hands do a great job.

I have clearly been influenced by TikTok culture because some of these favorite have come from social media. I LOVE these dew drops from Glow Recipe. It adds such a healthy glow under your makeup!

Bronzer has always been so hard for me. I used to use Nars, but found it to still be too orange on me. A lot of the powder bronzers don’t sit well on my skin and tend to get splotchy throughout the day – no matter the primers.

I have been into cream bronzers this year, and have found my favorite from Makeup Revolution. You can find it cheap at Target, and for my skin tone it’s been the most beautiful because it’s slightly cool.

I apply with a soft, tight powder brush and blend in a stippling motion.

For the eyes!

I love this under eye concealer from Too Faced. It’s thin, but buildable. Use with a little bit of setting powder (below), and you’re good to go.

Maybelline for the mascara – excuse the messy bottle 😉 I will never use another. I’ve tried so many expensive brands and none of them look as good as this. I get the brown because my eyes and hair are so light that black washes me out. This formula does not flake, comes off easily with remover, and is buildable if you want to go from natural lashes to BOOM lashes.

I love it, and it’s cheap!

For the cheeks

I double up on my blush. When I’m doing my creams, I will apply the Elf blush on my cheeks, then I will set everything, and finish with dusting Kat Von D blush over cheeks again, just for good measure. I am a blush girl!

Here is my setting powder! I go from intentionally dewey to hot and sweaty looking very quickly if I don’t lightly dust a setting powder on my face, and this one is my FAVORITE! I used NYX for years and looking back, it made me look like all the moisture from my face had been dried out. I absolutely love this setting powder from Beautycounter because the ingredients are clean and because it does exactly what I want a setting powder to do. Try this and let me know what you think!

clinique black honey | revision lip repair | makeup favorites

Black Honey lipstick has been my go to for months now. It’s such a great pop of color thats natural enough to wear during the day, and is super hydrating.

I wear this lipgloss almost everyday to keep my lips looking healthy, even sometimes at night as a repair gloss. It’s from the Revision skincare line which has my favorite face wash.
